Project Reflection
At first, I was unsure about learning what my own philosophy is for the "meaning of life", but that feeling quickly faded as I developed my perspective on what I think is the best way to live my life. The process of finding our own philosophy required a lot of reflecting, and in doing so I thought about what makes me happy. My philosophy is this: Having the freedom to choose your own path, and having opportunities to achieve your goals, or, more simply, live your life for yourself and no-one else. This doesn't mean being selfish, but rather don't sacrifice your own happiness to please other people. You only have one life to live, and if you spend it living for other people, it won't be a life worth living. I have been fortunate enough to have parents and relatives that let me chose what path for me to take, but there are people that are not as fortunate, who feel obligated to live their lives to their parents standards, and not follow their own passions.

Further Questions:
- Do other people disagree with me? Do they think you should live your life trying to please everyone?
- Are there similar philosophies to mine?
- Without basic "necessities", such as money or education, could you live a full and meaningful life?
- Is being happy a mindset, or can you be happy if you don't want to be?
Mother and Father
For my project, I decided to take a darker, and somewhat sad perspective to illustrate my philosophy. I wrote 2 suicide notes, each from the perspective of a troubled person, who was living his life for his parents, not for himself. The first note in the envelope is addressed to his mother, whom he clearly loved very much. She was supportive of him, regardless of what he wanted to do. His father is the opposite. He writes his father almost blaming him for his depression and his oppressed feeling. The mothers note was written and a nicer way, neater handwriting and only one page. His fathers note was two pages and is written like he's angry, scribbling the letters down with hatred and anger.
I wanted to have an emotional impact ion the viewer and have a visual piece that makes it feel like a person who really existed and this situation is real.
