Shakespeare project
ReflectionIn this project,I was responsible for the set deign as well as the sound work. In the set design we had to make a realistic portrayal of what we wanted the set to look like in the end. I worked on the sound work with two other partners. the sound involved getting sounds off the internet and playing them at the appropriate times during the play. Throughout the project, the most difficult or challenging part was line memorization. Though I had a small part, this was difficult for me because Im not very good at memorizing things, so it took me a lot of my time to sit down and just try to memorize.
The easiest part of the project was doing the daily logs and identifying the 21st century skill that we displayed each day. The most enjoyable part of the project is when we got to watch the other students do their part and watch the whole play come together in such a short amount of time. When we actually preformed the play itself, it was one of my best moments during the whole project because I had recited the lines with ease. In this project I learned that I can collaborate with my friends and still get work done. For example I worked on the sound production with my friend and we completed all the sounds in a short amount of time. Throughout my life I had heard about Shakespear, but all I knew is that he was a famous playwright, but I now know that he was the inventor of 1700 words that we still use today! |
Model United nations project
If another student asked me why the Model United Nations project was important, I would tell them that being able to take on another country other than your own and having to adapt to their perspectives was a great experience. When the project was first introduced, I had no idea how the United Nations worked or what kind of issues were discussed during the conferences. This project introduced me to the conflict involving Israel and Palestine, which I had no previous knowledge of.
During the Model United Nations conference the Habit of Heart and Mind that I am most proud of is perseverance. I am most proud of my perseverance because while I don't have any trouble talking to people, public speaking is one of my greatest weaknesses. As the conference was going along, the time to start making speaks came incredibly quick, but I still went up and made a speech that I can be proud of. The greatest challenge that I faced during this project was making the speech at the conference. For me, talking in front of a larger group of people is very difficult. Throughout the project I was worried about the exhibition because we were required to make speeches in front of everyone. I overcame this challenge by thinking about my grade if I did make a speech, then think about my grade if i doing make a speech. Overall I'm glad I made my speech and overcame my challenge. During the exhibition there were many good speeches as well as amendments, but there was one resolution that stood out to me.The most interesting resolution was one presented by China. This is the resolution that I voted for because it was the most reasonable for both groups of people. |
Brave New World Graphic Novel Project
This project was about reading a scene from the book "Brave New World" and making our own graphic novel interpretation of the scene. Throughout this project I improved most in teamwork by talking with my partner when writing the script and making the graphic novel how we both pictured it in our heads. In this project I was the author. My job was to analyze a theme, and writing an explanation essay on the contents of the scene and why we chose the theme for the scene. In the next project we do I would like to improve on my writing skills because i want to be able to wrote really well on future assignments.
