Tessellation Project
For this project, we made a tessellation in the style in M. C. Escher. My tessellation was made to look like a puzzle piece that is translate throughout the page. I started with a rectangle, and finished with a curve on the top and the bottom, and a square on the left and the right. My theme for my tessellation project was about difficult situations, so I chose to make my tessellation project to resemble a puzzle because you have to take time to put all the pieces of your life together to complete it just as you do with a puzzle. I think that math and art can go together in many situation. When doing certain types of art, you may need to use math and precise measurements to get the final result that you want. In ancient Egypt, math was used to create one of the most well known pieces in history, the pyramids (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematics_and_art). I think that tessellations are both math and art because of the geometric properties you you use to create them.
